Farm-To-Table Fall/Winter Volunteer Schedule:

 Tuesday, Nov 10

Event: Farm-To-Table Team Meeting & apple peeling for Local Foods Day

Time: 4pm

Location: RCES cafeteria

What you need: Please bring paring knives or peelers, cutting boards and a hat/scarf to cover your head in the kitchen.

 
Wed, Nov 11

Event: Asparagus patch cleanup

Time: 4-6pm

Location: 325 Rock Mills Rd (Joyce Abell’s property)

(no one showed for the last asparagus patch day!)

What you need: Bring gloves and loppers if you have them.

 

Thurs, Nov 19

Event: Harvest for Flower Arrangements

Time: 4-6pm

Location: RCHS and other sites from there

Harvesting materials for student arrangements and helping Mrs. Waddell as needed with flower arrangements.

What you need: Tools to clip/cut, gloves

 
Mon Nov 23 and Tues Nov 24 

Event: Help Patti with Thanksgiving arrangements

Time: 3:30-4:30

Location:  RCHS in Patti Waddell’s room

 

Wed Dec 2 

Event: Writing Thank-you notes and holiday greetings

Time: 4-6 pm

Location: Headwaters office at The Link: writing Thank-you notes and holiday greetings to all community participants who are part of F2T.

What you need: Bring your favorite writing pen

 
Tues Dec 8

Event: F2T Team meeting, all volunteers welcome!

Time: 4-5 pm

Location: Beth Gall’s classroom, RCHS

 
 

Fri Dec 11

Event: Volunteer Appreciation Party.  All volunteers and team members are welcome!

Time: 5-7pm:

What you need: Time to relax! Headwaters would like to give thanks to our wonderful Farm-To-Table volunteers! We couldn’t do it without you!  Even if you haven’t volunteered but you are still interested, please come!

 

Tues Dec 15

Event: Final garden cleanup for the year

Time: 3:30-5pm

Location: RCES Garden

What you need: Gloves – we will be detaching rain barrels, covering beds, removing all dead matter.

Note: Outdoor volunteer opportunities are weather permitting–if it’s just a drizzle, we’ll be there. Weeding is easier with damp soil! On days of cold, hard rain or snow, we will reschedule.
Children are welcome but should be accompanied by adults. Contact Trista or Anna Garcia (987-3322) on inclement days if you wonder whether or not we will reschedule.
