The Taste of Rappahannock is an annual event held on the Saturday after Labor Day to raise operating funds for our programs. Every year, through the generosity of Taste guests, students are able to utilize our programs at low- or- no-cost. The Taste features silent and live auctions, raffles, wine and whiskey tastings, and a meal with food prepared by restaurants around Rappahannock County.

Headwaters’ mission is to foster educational excellence in Rappahannock County by cultivating the cooperative spirit and resources of the whole community to benefit all students.

Founded in 1997 by a group of public school parents to provide independent support for the public school system and to increase community involvement in education, Headwaters is a 501(c)(3) not-for-profit organization, governed by a volunteer Board of Directors.

Headwaters fulfills its mission through five major programs as well as through several annual events and targeted initiatives. Headwaters’ programs serve all of Rappahannock’s children, aiming to reach those at greatest risk.
